20 Reasons you should Drink Lemon Water in the Morning

Adding lemon to water not only quenches thirst better than any other beverage, but it also nourishes our body with vitamins, minerals and trace elements which we absolutely need. Lemon with water can be considered the best natural energy booster. When we wake up in the morning, our bodily tissues are dehydrated and are in need of water to push out toxins and rejuvenate the cells. In other words, this homemade “lemonade” helps eliminate internal toxins, regulating proper kidney and digestive tract functions by forcing them to work as smoothly as possible.
Drink hot water with lemon first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
20 Unbelievable Reasons To Start Your Day With Water and Lemon
  1. Water with lemon provides the body with electrolytes which hydrate your body. As lemons contain good amount of electrolytes such as potassium, calcium and magnesium.
  2. Water with lemon is good for the joints, reducing pain in the joints and muscles.
  3. Warm water with lemon helps digestion as lemon contains citric acid. It interacts with other enzymes and acids which easily stimulate the secretion of gastric juice and digestion.
  4. The liver produces more enzymes from water with lemon than from any other food.
  5. Water with lemon cleanses the liver. Lemon juice stimulates the liver to release toxins.
  6. Water with Lemon helps fight infections of the respiratory tract, sore throats and inflammation of the tonsils. This is due to the anti-inflammatory properties of lemon.
  7. Warm water with lemon helps regulate natural bowel movement.
  8. Water with lemon is indispensable for the normal work of metabolism. Since lemon is a powerful antioxidant, it protects the body from free radicals and strengthens the immune system.
  9. Water with lemon aids in proper functioning of the nervous system (as lemon  has a high content of potassium). Depression and anxiety are often the result of low levels of potassium in the blood. The nervous system needs a sufficient amount of potassium to ensure sustainable signals to the heart.
  10. Water with lemon cleanses blood, blood vessels and arteries.
  11. Water with lemon can help lower blood pressure.  A daily intake of one lemon can reduce high blood pressure by 10%.
  12. Water with lemon creates an alkalizing effect in the body. Even if you drink it immediately before a meal,  it can help your body maintain a higher level of pH. The higher the pH, the more your body is able to fight diseases.
  13. Water with lemon is good for the skin. Vitamin C in lemon, improves our skin by rejuvenating the body.  Drinking water with lemon regularly (every morning) will improve the condition of your skin.
  14. Water with lemon  helps to dilute uric acid, the built up of which leads to pain in the joints and gout.
  15. Water with lemon is beneficial for pregnant women. Since lemons are loaded with Vitamin C, it acts as an adaptogen helping the body cope with viruses such as colds.  Furthermore, vitamin C helps the formation of bone tissue of the unborn baby. At the same time, due to the high content of potassium, a mixture of water with lemon helps forming cells of the brain and nervous system of the baby.
  16. Water with lemon relieves heartburn. For this, mix a teaspoon of lemon juice in half a glass of water.
  17. Water with lemon helps dissolve gallstones,  kidney stones, pancreatic stones, and calcium deposits.
  18. Water with lemon helps with weight loss.  Lemons contain pectin fiber, which helps suppress hunger cravings. Studies have proven  people with a better alkaline diet have lost weight faster.
  19. Water with lemon helps with tooth pain and gingivitis.
  20. Water with lemon prevents cancer. This is due to the fact that lemons are a highly alkaline food. Multiple studies have found that cancer cannot thrive in an alkaline environment.
So, when life gives you a bunch of lemons, make water with lemons.

GREEN TEA & Caffeine May Be Good for Multiple Sclerosis!

Green Tea & Multiple Sclerosis

Antioxidants

Polyphenol antioxidants in green tea extract improve multiple sclerosis symptoms by inhibiting certain enzymes that promote the disease, according to a study published in the March 2011 issue of the journal “Neurochemical Research.” In the tissue culture study, nerve cells exposed to green tea extract showed lower levels of tissue-degrading matrix metalloproteinase enzymes. Researchers concluded that green tea and other foods high in polyphenol antioxidants may be a powerful tool in the treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Anti-Inflammatory

Japanese researchers reported that green tea’s anti-inflammatory properties may be helpful in preventing and treating chronic inflammatory diseases, including multiple sclerosis. Green tea inhibits a compound known as tissue necrosis factor, which promotes tumor formation and inflammation. In the study on laboratory animals, four months of green tea supplementation inhibited tissue necrosis factor and interleukin, another pro-inflammatory molecule. The study was published in the April 2001 issue of the “Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences.”

Nerve Damage

Researchers at the Institute of Neuroimmunology of the Neuroscience Research Center in Berlin, Germany found that the green tea compound epigallocatechin-3-gallate, EGCG, suppressed a laboratory animal form of multiple sclerosis. In the study, EGCG reduced symptoms dramatically when given at or after the onset of symptoms. EGCG also protected against nerve damage in the brain. Researchers concluded that green tea may offer a viable natural option for treating and preventing multiple sclerosis and other inflammatory brain diseases by exerting both anti-inflammatory and nerve-protective benefits.

Caffeine

Caffeine in green tea may improve multiple sclerosis symptoms, according to Allen C. Bowling, Ph.D., author of the book “Complementary and Alternative Medicine and Multiple Sclerosis.” Caffeine counteracts fatigue and improves mental alertness. Caffeine also inhibits the activity of white blood cells and alters the activity of certain brain receptors that may prove to be beneficial for multiple sclerosis.

Suppressive Effects

Green tea epigallocatechin-3-gallate offers suppressive and protective effects against multiple sclerosis, according to Robert Luebke, editor of the book “Immunotoxicology and Immunopharmacology.” Polyphenol antioxidants in green tea inhibit the pro-inflammatory enzyme cyclooxygenase-2, or COX-2, as well as interferon and tissue necrosis factor. In animals, green tea extract inhibits relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.

Thai - one of 2014- Top 5 Celebration- IsaBody Challenge Finalists

ISAGENIX ISA BODY CHALLENGE is 16 WEEKS July 2014
At 5’1” Thai struggled with weight most of his life; one pound looked like five pounds on his frame. Over the years, he tried several diets, only to pack back on the pounds. “It was during a trip to Hawaii that I really hit ‘bottom,’” shares Thai. “I saw pictures of myself and was disgusted with how I looked. I was 160 pounds and any muscle I had was covered in fat.” At 39, he decided to change his life and started with his career. He took a personal training course and met Barbara, who shared Isagenix. Thanks to her, he was inspired to change his diet. “I lost weight, gained healthy, lean muscle and really began to feel good about my body for the first time in my life,” adds Thai. His newfound confidence will have him showing off his newly transformed physique as a participant in the Western Canadians Men’s Physique Body competition soon. - See more at: ISAGENIX

A Sleep Apnea Doctor Meets Isagenix

A healthy lifestyle change along with the use of common sleep apnea treatment devices can be an effective combination.

If it doesn’t come as a surprise to learn that sleep apnea is one of the most prevalent chronic conditions in modern medicine, consider this even more astonishing detail—an estimated 10 million Americans who suffer nightly are left undiagnosed (1).
The most common sleep disorder, Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is the result of the throat muscles relaxing, cutting off the supply of oxygen to the rest of the body while asleep. This lack of oxygen triggers the brain to abruptly rouse from sleep, typically without notice, to reopen the airway. The continual interruptions in sleep can happen in OSA patients anywhere from five to a hundred times an hour per night, inhibiting a restful, restorative sleep.
Besides the constant daytime fatigue, drowsiness, and irritability that comes with an inadequate night’s sleep, sleep apnea can also increase the risk for high blood pressure and heart problems. According to the Mayo Clinic, the sudden drops in blood oxygen throughout the night lead to an increased blood pressure and strain on the cardiovascular system. If left untreated, sleep apnea increases the risk for stroke and vascular disease.
Looking for a Solution
Dr. Joseph Zelk, known to his patients as “Dr. Joe,” a sleep specialist based in Portland, Oregon, creates dental appliances to treat OSA. Dr. Joe started searching for a more permanent and effective solution. One of the major risk factors of sleep apnea is obesity, or having a body mass index (BMI) greater than 30. In addition, oral sleeping devices are only so effective for overweight or obese patients.
As Dr. Joe describes, “Your tongue is a lean piece of muscle, but when we start to gain weight, it becomes a big marbled fat piece of meat that creates an obstruction to normal airflow when you fall asleep.”
Obesity can be both a cause and a side effect of sleep apnea. Because they are so intertwined, losing weight can function as a tool for helping those with sleep apnea (2, 3). Dr. Joe says, “For overweight and obese patients, as little as a 10 percent loss in body weight can lead to a 20 percent drop in the severity of sleep apnea.”
A Turning Point
Everything changed when Patrick O. came into Dr. Joe’s office in Las Vegas, Nevada with a case of severe sleep apnea. When tested, Dr. Joe found that Patrick had an Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) of 57 apnea events per hour.
“I was being subconsciously roused from my sleep almost every minute,” Patrick said.
They started discussing the importance of weight loss, when Patrick revealed his past success with Isagenix. He’d been a long-time Associate who had fallen out of the Isagenix lifestyle, but was still very involved in coaching and building his business. As a source of motivation, Dr. Joe challenged Patrick to commit to one Isagenix 30-Day System.
Patrick immediately started the Isagenix 30-Day System, and began treating his apnea with a new medical device used orally. He found that even with a holiday cruise he was able to lose weight and was feeling more rested and energized. The symptoms of his once severe sleep apnea started to fade.
A restorative night’s sleep not only changed how he felt, but also made his weight-loss journey more efficient. Patrick found that with the new energy and focus he had he was more motivated to stick to his plan and incorporate workouts into his schedule. He continued on the Isagenix system and as of October 2014, he is down 45 pounds* and more motivated than ever.
Dr. Joe, already in relatively good shape, was enticed by the potential of building muscle with the products and found that, six weeks later, without any change in his workout routine, he’d gained 11 percent lean mass and lost 10 percent of his body fat. His results inspired him to share the products with his family and staff.
When an overweight client named James K. came into his office suffering from 112 (AHI) apnea events per hour a night, Dr. Joe immediately suggested Isagenix along with the CPAP breathing aid. Before Isagenix, James was eating sporadically or just one meal a day due to his busy schedule. After hearing about Patrick’s and Dr. Joe’s successes, he was willing to give it a shot.
In just a few days, James said he started seeing results. He was feeling more focused and rested throughout the day. Two months later he says he is sleeping soundly, has experienced successful weight loss, and is “still getting great results.” In the past, James had tried other systems and said he never felt full, but now “at the end of the day I feel satisfied, Isagenix is totally different.” He has now released a total of 70 pounds*.
Dr. Joe has now brought on 20 to 30 other overweight or obese sleep apnea patients to try Isagenix products for weight management. What he’s found is that lifestyle changes including use of Isagenix products along with treatment for sleep apnea through oral or breathing devices is an effective combination.

*Weight-loss should not be considered typical. In a study performed in 2012 by University of Illinois at Chicago researchers, subjects lost an average of 9 pounds with an average of 2 pounds of the loss from visceral fat after 30 days on an Isagenix system. The subjects also had a greater level of adherence and had more consistent weight loss from week to week in comparison to traditional dieting.
